Hector Christie & Chris Edwards

It has been remarked that they are an unlikely duo. Hector was born in Aberdeenshire and raised and schooled in Angus and spent half his working life in the Scottish Borders, all three locations being steeped in the folk tradition of Scotland. He has a vast background in folk music including festival and club organiser, writer and performer.

Chris is of Welsh/Cumbrian parentage and is a talented multi-instrumentalist playing guitars, mandolin, fiddle, mandola, concertina and accordion. His open mindedness and long term relationship with music includes absorbing musical styles from Scotland, Scandinavia and from Ireland where he lived for several years.

Whilst their very different backgrounds could have produced barriers,in reality it has rather enriched the partnership, and they have discovered a shared devotion to a range of musical subjects from the Scottish Child ballads, to the writing of poet Violet Jacob, and a fascination with the funnier side of life expressed in music.
